I've always followed this band and loved them, but after releasing R U Mine? and FINALLY getting the chance to see them live this past month, I'm currently transfixed on the Arctic Monkeys. Suck It And See was my AOTY for 2011.
so under rated. i remember when they first broke in America they were dubbed "the english Strokes". so stupid.
also, its just so refreshing to see a band that's as talented as they are while showing total restraint. i feel like everyone today that's mastered their instrument has to prove it at all times. Helders never lets his skill over take creating the beat that the song properly needs (unlike say Travis Barker, etc.) and Alex Turner could shred all of our faces off all day, but he lets the song decide when to crank it up. if the world was fair, they wouldn't need the black keys to fill those stadiums.
