Questions for Code Orange Kids

Posted by - 03:07 PM on 04/25/12
I would take a bet that if you had a chance to check out the stream of the new Code Orange Kids split with Full of Hell that we posted a couple days ago, you might be interested to know I'll be talking to Code Orange Kids this weekend about the split as well as their upcoming Deathwish debut. Leave any questions you might have in the replies!

What was it like having your music featured on NPR? You guys don't seem like the type of music that they normally cover, so I imagine it was at least a little surprising.

Aren't they out of high school? I thought they were 18-19. Maybe not.

Mostly for Jami, but how difficult is it doing vocals and playing drums live? Have you pared down the amount of vocals you do now that the rest of the band does more screaming?

Yeah they're 18-19, and I forgot that that would make them a freshman in college if anything, like myself. Haha forget the question.

A) Its clear that on the split you've continued the "roman numeral songs" that started on Embrace Me // Erase Me. Is there a theme that ties these two new songs to those three previous ones?

B) Having just seen you in Indianapolis on Monday, I noticed that you all use Sunn heads, has the unique tone helped shape your sound? Are these the same amps you used in the studio?

C) It feels with your newer works, Cycles especially, that there is a theme connecting the EP as a whole. Would you say there is a concrete "concept" to the record, or are there plans to write a concept to go along with your Deathwish debut?
