Still don't get why Funeral is the 'go to' Arcade Fire album. Sure it has Wake Up on it, but as a whole the songs on Neon Bible are better and Neon Bible also has a more cohesive feel to it. |
I'd recommend listening to Funeral about 100-200 more times before saying things like that. That album has been one of my most played for years, and though I absolutely love Neon Bible too, Funeral is as wonderful and as cohesive as music gets. While about half of Neon Bible got old after a few hundred plays, Funeral still astounds me every time those first twinkling notes of "Neighborhood #1" start. It's like Merriweather Post Pavilion... there's just nothing wrong with it as an LP. Nothing at all.
