I'd recommend listening to Funeral about 100-200 more times before saying things like that. That album has been one of my most played for years, and though I absolutely love Neon Bible too, Funeral is as wonderful and as cohesive as music gets. While about half of Neon Bible got old after a few hundred plays, Funeral still astounds me every time those first twinkling notes of "Neighborhood #1" start. It's like Merriweather Post Pavilion... there's just nothing wrong with it as an LP. Nothing at all.

Bjork - Vespertine

A magnificent album, that while not particularly commercially successful, was beloved critically. It was Bjork's attempt to make an 'electronic folk' album and she truly succeeded. The album is delicate and sensual, with a beautiful mixture of strings and beats. Pagan Poetry might be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Thom Yorke called Unravel his favourite song of all time. Perfect album.

OK Computer is really the only record I can say with confidence. Far more significant than Kid A.

As much as I love the music in this scene, I don't know if much any of it will be culturally or musically relevant in 2040. Maybe Transatlanticism. Deja Entendu and Full Collapse in inner circles.

I think even more than FOB, Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American will be regarded as the classic record from that genre/era.

Yup. Even people who listened to almost all opera, classical, and new age (like my fiancee) had that album and loved it. Soccer moms, teenagers, college kids... everyone.
