God, terrible, terrible news. 31? Seriously? I'm 31 and this story saddens and scares the shit out of me. R.I.P. buddy.

Dude was a sweetheart. I toured with HFS back in '07 and Scotty was just a solid, sweet guy. Nobody could say a negative thing about him or the rest of his bandmates. My heart is breaking for them, I hope they can find peace throughout this turmoil. Ugh, I hate death. RIP Scotty.

We still don't know what the actual cause was. He had a history of epilepsy and that seems to be the most likely cause. It's absolutely horrible. I toured with that band for almost 3 years and Scotty kept us all laughing constantly. He was a genuine guy who acted the same around everyone, no matter where he was or who he was around. He was an amazing person and I'm so sad that I'll never hear him make fun of cheesy church songs ever again! The funeral was very emotional to say the least, but it was also very hopeful that we know he is at peace. RIP peace Scotty
