i don't like the song or the group by any means, but there is definitely some merit to 14 million singles sold and the most purchased track on itunes, specially when the group wrote most of the song themselves with only a few co-writes, which is rare in popular music which is generally completely written by ghost writers.

I don't usually defend auto-tune usage and meaningless pop music, but i do know when to give credit when deserved.

I hate them now. I did love me some Elephunk and Monkey Business though. After that, they stopped rapping and just made straight poppy bullshit.

I pretty much despise everything Black Eyes Peas...they are the worst. But the auto tune things doesn't bother me very much. I know a lot of bands use it and to me it's just another evolution in music. recording isn't what it once was for rock bands either, not just pop bands. there are preamps, a billion pedals,multiple takes while recording, adding instruments that aren't played live, adjusting a lot of double bass etc.
