It's like the same thing with Jeff Kummer. Jeff has a job, so can't play in TEN all the time, but has first dibs for shows, tours, etc.

Tyler has chosen to go to school, so he doesn't tour with the band full time, but when he's off for the summer (Warped, this headliner) he plays. Pretty simple stuff.

He did leave once though, right before War Paint, but then he rejoined before the 5 year anniversary tour.
