at&t, is there a way on the device to see if it is rooted?
Okay AT&T definitely shouldn't have factory rooted it so I doubt thats it's.

As for checking if it's already rooted, here's a pretty simple way to check.

The tablet didn't charge when it was plugged in to the PC. That's pretty normal, a regular USB 3 port doesn't output enough current to really charge a tablet.

When you're flashing CWM with Odin, make sure the auto-reboot option isn't checked. When it says to reboot the device in odin turn it off and boot to the recovery instead of letting it boot up normally, if you let it boot up normal right after flashing the bootloader just reinstalls the stock android recovery.

This is most likely the issue I was having (although it's been a month or two so I don't fully remember), thanks for the input I'll try that out sometime!

Does anyone have an Android phone that works in Europe? I will be starting to come to Europe quite often for my job, and my S3 doesn't get service here and after some research it appears that Samsung region locks their phones. I think this is a deal breaker for when i purchase a new phone.

Ahem...anyone?

It depends on carrier mostly, The Galaxy S5 is a global ready phone according to verizon. As is the HTC One, The Note 3, the Moto X etc

I gave SwiftKey a try, and while I do like it and it works pretty well, I think Google's built in keyboard works just fine, making the extra download of SwiftKey unnecessary.

I guess part of why I feel like I haven't found the perfect autocorrect keyboard is my bilingualism.

Hey does anyone know of any good apps? I just picked up a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 and received a $25 Google Play credit so I'm weighing my options on what I should spend it on. What's the best alarm clock app? I had Alarm Clock Xtreme but it would just not work some days. Any type of photo editing, fitness, or just anything that'd work well on my tablet would be awesome. The only thing I've purchased so far was the ASOIAF app and all the info packs for it. Thanks.

Strongly agree.

I used SwiftKey up until the AOSP keyboard implemented swiping a couple years ago, at which point I quickly ditched it. I find the AOSP keyboard significantly snappier and just as accurate, perhaps moreso, when typing swype-style.

I guess I'm one of those people who likes to use the default apps whenever possible, unless there's a really compelling alternative. In most cases, third-party replacements aren't quite as smooth, consistent and well-integrated. Google does a good job with most (though not all) of their apps.

Granted, now that Chrome has replaced the old AOSP browser, I find myself more tempted to use Dolphin/Firefox from time to time... but that's another story.
