Just reading that quickly gave me chills. I can hardly put my excitement into words.
I hate having to explain to people what a band means to me, because I either feel like I'm acting like "generic super fan #2324" or I'm legitimately not giving a band enough credit. When it comes to The Wonder Years, I've thrown all caution to the wind in the last couple of years and just laid it out, plain and simple. They are the band that defines this portion of my life. Blink-182 did it in the 90's, New Found Glory took over years later, and now it's The Wonder Years.
For a long time, I had a hard time envisioning a band that would overtake New Found Glory definitively, but I think the release of The Greatest Generation will firmly cement TWY in my #1 spot. The three songs I've heard thus far blew me away. I was instantly in love with each song. There's no "warm up" period for me. I hear it, and I instantly love it.
I had a serious case of the chills the first time I heard Suburbia, and I was left speechless after the closing line of "...And Now I'm Nothing." I can't even imagine how "I Just Want to Sell Out My Funeral" is going to feel.
