Britain should protect Falkland Islands 'at all costs', say 61% of voters.
Guardian/ICM poll: Conservatives most strident in opposition to negotiated handover as war's anniversary approaches.

Cameron has also said that support for Falklands will 'remain steadfast' and he's apparently got the backing of the US, so I would hope that would provide a big enough deterrent for the Argentinians.

Personally, it isn't an issue I feel particularly strong about. I'm happy for the islands to remain British, but it isn't something I feel is worth a second war. Hopefully it won't come to that.
Yeah, I definitely hope not, but at the very least I think that it would be on the UK to support them, considering our history.

Bit of a surprise:

Libyan elections: moderate Mahmoud Jibril poised for victory
Return of former National Transitional Council chief would defy expectations of victory for the Muslim Brotherhood.

Seems to be a step in the right direction. We'll see if he can manage to keep the country together.

In regards to the Falklands is there anyway for there to be some sort of joint thing. Not necessarily rule but profit sharing in terms of land, ocean space, natural resources? Or at least some other negotiated agreement?

I would imagine it would certainly be do-able, but I don't think either side would be interested in the compromise unfortunately.

The people there want to be British, and that alone seems reason enough for me to have them stay British. I don't really see why Argentina deserves anything, especially since they are the only side doing anything hostile these days.

North Korea's Kim Jong-un spotted with mystery woman.
Speculation grows over identity of woman seen with North Korean leader on state TV at Kim Il-sung anniversary ceremony.

Ah, young love.

Something in that article surprised me:

Quote:
Little personal information is known about Kim, and even his exact age has not been announced, although he is believed to be in his late 20s. His younger sister Kim Yo Jong was born in 1987, according to Cheong Seong-chang, a North Korea analyst at the Sejong Institute in South Korea.
North Korean officials have refused to comment on speculation about Kim Jong Un's marital status, which has not been listed in official biographies for the young leader.

I know I shouldn't be surprised about all that secrecy when it comes to North Korea, but I assumed basic information about him would be available. I guess not.

As an American, when you look at how North Korea operates and its isolationism from the rest of the world, I tend to appreciate all the freedoms we still have in this country.

Occasionally he posts some insensitive stuff, but I tend to really like Drezner as well. He's generally pretty entertaining as well as informative.

Haha, I was actually just reading another post of his, where's it's basically just him rambling about Romney's incoherent/messy foreign policy views. But generally he posts pretty interesting stuff/ideas.
