Sublime was in the same category as Alice in Chains. When their respected front men passed away, both bands became more popular and more well known. It wouldn't work with bands like Nirvana because they were already gigantic when Kurt was still alive.

I actually really like this band. Their album was pretty solid. Rome's solo stuff is pretty sweet, too (in a slightly different style than Sublime with Rome). I missed them last year when they toured with 311, though, so I'd really like to catch this show.

I really don't think you can say that. Most old school fans don't like this "version" of Sublime. I think it's safe to say at least 70% of their fans at a concert never heard them back in the day. Which is fine, BUT being that Bud isn't even playing with them anymore, and from recent comments he has passed I think they really should drop the whole "sublime" thing and in my opinion it is way past due. Rome's solo gig also I think shows his intentions. I think he has a good voice, yes, but he doesn't fit "Sublime" at all. I'd be surprised if they actually do put out another record, and if they do, if they still use the Sublime name to get record sales I think its even more disrespectful than when they did it the first time.

I like the album... particularly Take It Or Leave It... but they shouldn't have gone with the Sublime name.
