It is an improper implementation of said thesaurus entry on the word sarcasm, when it appears as if you are disagreeing with the article on the bounds of a proclaimed untrue statement. Your statement would have employed sarcasm if you had made the statement toward any potential nay-sayer in the thread, not as a general statement towards such an article that apparently from your last post I can gather, does not refute your mindset on the matter.

Are these two articles related? Yes. But that's a different study with different metrics, different variables and different findings. It's also looking for different information using different methods. It's completely different.
