John Mayer is releasing a five song EP exclusively on iTunes, with four in studio performances and a new unreleased song from the Born and Raised sessions, entitled "Go Easy on Me." He will also be having surgery next month to remove the granuloma in his vocal chords.
Fuck yeah. But... he's just now having his surgery? I thought he had that awhile back and was in rehab mode or whatever.
He did have the surgery already but, that thing he had came back so he's having another surgery done. Wish him the best, can't wait for him to tour again!
Hope he's still on the idea of making another album this year.
That is becoming doubtful now. He said he was recording in the summer and having the surgery around September or October, but it looks like he has scarped those plans. Adding the 6 to 8 month recovery period after the surgery, I doubt he'll be able to at least record vocals for a new record until next spring.

I'm not saying he hasn't been recording, but he said in an interview if he thought the vocals weren't good enough when and if he did this summer, he would go back to record them 6 to 8 months after the surgery which is when he can sing again.
