The stretch from Pro Skater 3 all the way to Project 8 is arguably the most high-quality a 'sports' game franchise has ever been.

I think THAW was the last playable game because the transition from 6th to 7th gen wasn't nearly as smooth as the transition from 5th to 6th, and the downfall began with THP8.

Underground followed very closely by Pro Skater 3. I'm sorry, but Darth Maul on a fucking cruise ship? Far too legit to be compared to the other Pro Skaters, even though the other 3 were all amazing.

Underground is one of the best games I've ever played.

THUG was probably the best of the series, but I had more fun playing THPS2 than any other. It was definitely the best for where it was in the series, if that makes sense. Honestly all of them through Project 8 are legitimate right answers to this question though.
