Best time of the year. Think I'm going to a 'haunted house/hayride' tonight.

Not to mention the new Hammock album is absolutely beautiful and perfect for this season.

I always liked The Glass Passenger in the Fall. Annie Use Your Telescope just....I dunno...worked for me this time of year.

I can't believe anyone could say that with a straight face. I honestly can't.

Seriously, these people are idiots.

I agree, they're idiots. But didn't Democrats also pull this during the Bush years?

That the numbers were cooked? I never heard it.

I'm looking and can't find anything either. I got that from this:

People seem to have forgotten, but the BLS conspiracy theories were a thing in the Bush years too.

Ladies and Gentlemen, your other Republican talking point for the next month:

Quote:
It’s official: The federal budget deficit blew past the $1 trillion mark for the fourth year in a row.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Friday that the nation recorded a budget deficit of about $1.1 trillion in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30. That figure is about $200 billion lower than last year’s budget deficit of $1.3 trillion.

Worth noting, that's 200 billion dollars less than the year before. Austerity and such.

Yeah, if Obama was even capable of cooking the numbers, he probably would have been doing so this whole year. The 7.8 number is great but not so great that I would be suspicious.

EDIT: Having said that, if the number was like 6.5% or something I would probably call bullshit.

That's pretty wild

Quote:
The Bureau of Labor Statistics' nonfarm payrolls report presented a slew of contradictory data points, with the total employment level soaring despite the low net number.

The falling jobless rate had been a function as much of the continued shrinking in the labor force as it was an increase in new positions.

But the government said the total number of workers employed surged by 873,000, the highest one-month jump in 29 years. The total of unemployed people tumbled by 456,000.

You said it. He'd have been doing this long ago. He got a good report when he needed one. End of story.

I said the same thing when everyone accused Bush of cooking the WMD intelligence as an excuse to go to Iraq. If Bush really had that capability, he would have just planted the weapons there to vindicate his decision. Seems like it would have been a pretty easy thing to do.

Uh...not at all. Sneaking weapons of mass destruction into a soverign nation is not essentially the same thing as making up false intelligence.

I realize they are not the same thing, but are you suggesting that putting a hundred viles of anthrax into a backpack and getting it into Iraq would have been impossible, or even difficult if one were as evil as Bush was portrayed?
