How is it?
Rising to fame via YouTube covers, the American pop duo Karmin signed a major label record deal with Epic Records as part of L.A. Reid's new affiliation with the company. The EP is a mixed bag of good-not-great and downright painful efforts. "Brokenhearted" remains the best thing about this EP as it focuses more on catchy melodies rather than Heidemann's rapping, which feels out of place more than once, especially on the ballad "Coming Up Strong". The final track "Hello" is a strong dance effort that shows flashes of promise. Overall, the duo seems to struggle with finding their sound, something that should really be resolved with the release of their album later this year.
