This is where they would have gone after Who Will Survive (in my humble opinion), had Vincent stayed in the band...Scotty Brackett being in the band now, seems to have renewed that sense of weirdness that made Who Will Survive so great.
The first eight songs are ridiculously good. Haven't had the time to let the rest sink in yet, but this is definitely an AOTY contender. And these songs live are AMAZING...they played 5 of them at their recent show in Portland and it was epic.
Not listening, I'm waiting for that sweet, sweeeeet limited edition vinyl!
...The comments comparing this to "Who Will Survive..." have me ridiculously excited. That's the kind of expectations that could never be met... Or could they?
Who Will Survive...remains my favorite, but Red of Tooth and Claw is a close second and I'm a sucker for Like The Exorcist. The other two albums were by no means bad, they just haven't stuck with me as much..but this sounds like it's shaping up to be fantastic.
