Wouldn't say it's "ruined" or anything nearly that dramatic. I think it actually suits Mumford's voice. But it's an okay cover of a really great new band...that's all. Good for alt-J...Awesome Wave is fantastic and deserves to be heard by more people.

I was being hyperbolic, obviously. But do think it's a very bad cover, so boring and the instrumentation is very weak.
Pretty much why I posted it, been posting about them a fair bit the past few months and included them in the latest Absolute100, but even more exposure for them via this post is a winner. Check out their debut album, An Awesome Wave, it's fantastic.
I think this cover just made me realize once again how very good Alt-J and "Tesselate" are. Still, a decent cover (better than I was expecting, actually) but nothing that great.
