After this review, I think I'll give this a chance.

Only thing I disagree with in this review is most fans having a negative response to Nothing Personal. I mean I guess on this site but as a pop album that is not only ATL's best selling album but really skyrocketed their fan base. I agree Dirty Work was hit or miss all around though. I think SWIR is their best album atm but if after a good number of listens that could change with this album since Don't Panic is basically SWIR mixed with Nothing Personal for a fantastic pop rock album.

Almost my thoughts exactly except I gave it a 7/10.

Solid album. Great job, ATL. The only hiccups, while still sounding good (just not as strong comparatively), were "If These Sheets Were States" and "The Irony of Choking on a Lifesaver." The former sounds like a We The Kings song...

After listening to this a few times it has grown on me a little. Its really catchy, but I still can't get over the bad lyrics. I'd probably rate it a 5/10.

The Relient K and Yellowcard comparisons have me interested. I remember telling myself that this would be ATL's last shot with me after NP and DW, so we'll see. I'll check out that stream tomorrow.

To be honest, I dont really see those comparisons. maybe on one track, but i wouldnt go in with those expectations. It is a amazing pop rock album though. if you want rock and less pop rock you want So Long Soldier, Live And Let Go, and maybe If These Sheets Were States, Thanks To You, Paint You Wings, and Let Me Be Me. Id still give the whole album a try though.

im surprised at how good this album really is. a lot of upbeat tracks which is what i like!

8.7/10 for me, better than 8.5 but not quite 9 territory
