holy shit. A lot of people are comparing this record to their old stuff (still LOVE the old stuff) but i think this record sounds completely different then their old stuff and i am perfectly okay with that. THIS IS AWESOME i love this sound on this record.

Yup, I don't understand why people hate ads so much. I can see if they're intrusive, but regular ones shouldn't bother you. Idk, I could be saying this because I make money from ads on my site
Anyone else think that "If These Sheets Were The States" and "The Irony of Choking on a Lifesaver" are the realization of the sound they were trying to achieve with Dirty Work. If the songs on Dirty Work were like that I wouldn't have minded it as much. Still wouldn't be that great in my eyes considering I love the sound of their older stuff, but I wouldn't have hated it.
"Lifesaver" does that for me; still sounds like an early 2000s pop-rock record; which is exactly why Dirty Work didn't blow up in the mainstream(IMO at least)
way different feel on this than anything they've released, not necessarily a bad thing. the songs they released prior to this were a good indication of the direction they were heading
This kind of rules. I dig it. No criticism as far as lyrics either, it's just what I'd expect from them. So far nothing is cringe-worthy, just a few cheesy lines, but it doesn't make anything unlistenable.
Maybe this will grow on me, but the lyrics are really forced. Seems like some parts are just random words put together because they rhyme. Musically, this is miles better than Dirty Work and perhaps the best the band has ever sounded, but the writing drags it down significantly.
