This makes me sad, but it seems to be the popular opinion around where I live too. Restrictions on what kind of abortion is "okay" just seems so iffy to me in addition to the funding. I know this is a bit off the issue here, but I just get scared when a bunch of middle aged white men try to define and limit what rape is, and I think things like this don't help. I guess I can see people who aren't pro-choice not wanting to pay for them, but meh, my money goes to a lot of things I don't support. I also don't care for pro-choice people who seem to be pro-choice, except for...
Not saying this is you, but I'm just projecting here haha. Abortions can be expensive, and I'd rather my money go to help pay for one than a woman have a baby she doesn't want or have an unsafe abortion because she can't terminate. Do you support taxpayer money going towards birth control? |
On that issue my fiscal libertarianism came into conflict with my social libertarianism and my fiscal side won.
I didn't vote out of a bibical "abortion is evil" standpoint like most people who are going to vote that way are , but i don't think taxes should go to bailing out someone for being irresponsible and not using the resources our taxes already pay for like sex ed classes , condoms , and birth control.
Like i said i know it was an unpopular choice but i had to stick to my guns on that one
