Detroit for sure. Wish I had 400 bucks so I could go to a game, but oh well.

if the tigers win, over the past 25 years, sports with the most different champions...
MLB: 16
NHL: 16
college football: 15 (aP/bcs)
colelge basketball: 15
NFL: 13
NBA: 8

what does this prove? not much...other than the nba sucks (that's right, i threw a jab at the nba in the world series thread)
The NBA is definitely the worst. No more than 3-4 legitimate contenders in any given season nowadays, if that.

Obvious money is on a Heat-Lakers final this year. Should be great.. sike.

I don't understand why so many more people seem to be rooting for San Francisco than Detroit when the Giants won the WS two years ago and the Tigers haven't won one in almost thirty years. Also how can you not like Justin Verlander?
IT's mostly just the people from around SF that I see rooting for the Giants. Everyone else is up Verlander's rear end. He's pitching against my team, that's how I can not like him. After next week, his likability with me will be up for review again.

Yeah if you're a Giants fan, then duh that's one thing haha. But it seems like there are a fair amount of people on here not from SF rooting for the Giants and several of my friends are as well...

No other sport allows one superstar to have as much of an impact. That's not a league thing, that's the rules of the game. If the NBA had WAR, guys like LeBron and KD would annually be worth 30 or 40.

Actually, LeBron's WAR would be lower in Miami than in Cleveland, since he has teammates who would pick up the slack if he were gone. It would be teammate-dependent, and about as useful as...RBI's.

Yeah, and in baseball, it's so rare that a team wins back to back titles. Compare that to the NBA who seems to have a dynasty every decade or so. Gotta love baseball for that reason.
