Ive never heard anything too impressive. But again, I still like his playing, but it's clear he's a better acoustic player than electric. Many people love him so they'll say he's the best, but he's just a favorite.

For me the best guitarists are the ones who show constraint in their playing and only shred when the timing is write

Mike Kinsella, his work in American Football and Owen is amazing. He has such a diverse style of guitar it's exciting to hear what he writes next. Not to mention many of times it's on acoustic and not electric.

i have heard fred shred some of the most insane riffs ive ever heard when he was messing around at this cmj event a few years ago.
for me though i love the guitar parts he has created. theyre often smart and well crafted. look at a lot of what he did on WYWTB. he has written some of my favorite guitar parts. he has a great understanding of what works in a song guitar wise.

Evan Weiss and Mike Kinsella definitely. As songwriters, they're amazing. They come up with some really unique guitar parts that just sound fucking good.
