What's worse? The content or the design?

I'd go with the design, it looks like something that I would have made on Geocities in 5th grade. Both suck though.

Coincidentally both are against progress.

The early internet era was a dark time for all of us.

I don't know if anyone else has posted this, but here's a cool tool to explore all the different ways the candidates can win/lose/tie depending on the swing states they win.

Gonna make a drinking game out of the election tonight with all of my fellow Americans over here in Germany. We're supposed to take a half shot for every state that gets called for the candidate of our respective parties, so I'm predicting I won't get too drunk.

Why, did you get stuck with Romney?

BAM

Haha, that's what I was implying! I think Obama will win, so since I'm a registered Republican I should be safe.

I had a Reese's peanut butter cup thing when I was in America and it was one of the worst things I've ever put in my mouth.

Proper shite.

Couldn't read the rest of this thread without immediately quoting this and saying you should be on the no-fly list

Also, 303-235. Had to wait until the last moment to guess.

Do places like American Samao, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands count? They're the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Dunno if they follow the same rules of Guam.

Nope. Gotta be a state or DC to get votes. They get to vote on whether or not they want to be a state, though! Puerto Rico decides not to be one on a fairly regular basis.

Edit: They're actually voting on that very topic today, I believe!

Oh okay, how come they were voting today in Guam, then?

I honestly have no idea. But, from Wikipedia:

Quote:
U.S. citizens in Guam vote in a straw poll for their choice in the U.S. Presidential general election, but since Guam has no votes in the Electoral College, the poll has no real effect. However, in sending delegates to the Republican and Democratic national conventions, Guam does have influence in the national presidential race. These delegates are elected by local party conventions.

If statehood is losing out to a slim margin, seems like it could be something that happens in our lifetimes.

Imagine all the jobs we'll create making those new flags!

It would honestly be pretty cool seeing one of them becoming a new state, just so we could see it happen in our lifetimes. Stop being selfish and stimulate our economy, territories!

Jesus H Christ, I just can't imagine waiting so long in line. We need to make this a federal holiday.

Agreed, it's a bit weird that it isn't, honestly.

From the AP:

Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Preliminary results of an exit poll conducted for The Associated Press show that the presidential election hinges once again on the economy.

The survey of voters as they leave polling places Tuesday shows 6 in 10 voters say the economy is the top issue facing the nation, with unemployment and rising prices hitting voters hard.

About 4 in 10 say they think the nation's economy is on the mend, but more say that things are getting worse or are bad and stagnating.

About half of voters say the previous president, George W. Bush, shoulders more of the blame for economic challenges than President Barack Obama.

Just a quarter of those surveyed in the exit poll say they are better off than four years ago.

Anyways it's time for bed over here. Hopefully I'll be able to wake up and find out who the president is!
