New Jersey's Starland Ballroom has closed until spring 2013. Most dates (including Yellowcard/New Found Glory) have been canceled, though some (including Taking Back Sunday/Sum 41) have been postponed and moved to different venues. Final word about other shows, including The Starting Line, Hot Water Music, The Used, and Scott Weiland, have not yet been announced.
Fucking Sandy. I've seen some awesome shows here but usually go to the Philly date if there is one rather than driving up to Sayreville. It's a cool venue and I hope they get it back up and running without any issues
It's a tough time for a lot of people in Jersey, and I'm glad to see they're looking to fix everything and get back up and running. Some of my family only an hour north of me just got their power back this week.
One of the best venues in Jersey. Sucks that so many shows I had tickets to see (MCS/Jukebox, NFG, Yellowcard/Fireworks) got canceled, but at least Sum 41 got moved to the Stone Pony. I do find it crazy that the Stone Pony is literally a block from the beach and yet is able to hold a concert. Hope they are able to have the venue up and running in Spring 2013 like they are saying.
A source that works at Starland told me that they did get nailed hard with Sandy but they wanted to remodel a few things for awhile now. They're just killing two birds with one stone. Starland is looking to re-open around late March.
