Not really though since "ignorant" means that one is without certain knowledge, which isn't always the fault of the person in question; it just means that don't know something because they've never been exposed to it. "Stupid," on the other hand, refers to someone who has some sort of deficiency that leaves them incapable of learning or increasing their intelligence (i.e. "lacking in...normal intelligence").
