Why do bands keep going back to Mizell ? Everything he touches sounds like shit. Except for that new Memphis May Fire record, that actually sounds decent production wise.

Not sure, but everything after that album all have had the same new guitar/bass/drum tones as that MMF album (that terrible new WIM record for example - a little dirtier but still the same presets roughly). From my perspective it's a slight improvement over what he was mixing for the stuff before - especially the drums.

i mean, the bands might like that sound, though. if you want a particular sort of production, he's one of the guys you go to. a lot of people might not like it, a lot of other people really do. if the guy gets another record to sound even better, why not take that shot of working with someone you know and getting a somewhat better sound?
