I remember when I was around 14, and I was absolutely in "a love at first sight" state with pop punk bands. I was a blink/green day fan already, and started discovering NFG, FOB, TSL, Yellowcard, Midtown and many more. By that time, there weren't many pop-punk bands around, so it was easier to love them all. I'm still in love with this genre now that I'm 22 (actually I'm listening to Take This To Your Grave right now!), but it's hard sometimes to enjoy all pop-punk bands nowadays, simply for the fact that there are TOO MANY bands. It gets overwhelming sometimes.

But still, there are a lot of good bands keeping the legacy alive in this genre: The Swellers and Versus The World are the first that always come to my mind, but there's plenty others doing a good job. In fact, I think pop-punk bands nowadays took it a step further and improved the sound in many ways, made it a pop-punk 2.0 if I might call it that.

Perhaps we're all just getting too old for pop-punk. Most people seem to grow out of it.

I think that as with all genres, there is shit that is balanced out by good counterparts. Some bands like Hit the Lights, The Wonder Years, and The Story So Far are doing really great stuff, while bands like All Time Low, and the Maine struggle to move away from that sound. It is all a matter of perspective though.

bromance kind of vibe? and blink (when they weren't fighting) and NFG don't? hell, Mark and Tom used to spend half their time on stage talking about each other's dicks.

Man Overboard sings about girls, if that's your thing. there are definitely two different styles, but I love The Wonder Years and Man Overboard so much (which I'm guessing count as new pop punk).

I prefer a lot more bands like The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Forever Came Calling, Red City Radio and Polar Bear Club (not sure if PBC is pop punk, though, but I think it is) to Green Day and Blink-182. Not to mention New Found Glory, who I really can't seem to get into

Man Overboard, A Loss for Words, This Time Next Year and those poppier bands however, me no gusta.

Agreed, not to big of a fan of the new Pop punk bands at all. I cant even keep up with how many newer band there are.

I do however enjoy TWY and Transit. They seem to at least try to stray away from the pack a bit. I dont even mind Fireworks.

some of the new pop-punk is pretty bad, but The Wonder Years are awesome. Transit has some really good indie-ish stuff in Listen & Forgive: pop-punk, but with more acoustic guitar. and Fireworks is incredible.
