If they had signed to Fueled by Ramen today and released "How You Love Me Now" or something equally catchy, I'm almost certain they'd be charting well. I'm also pretty sure that was the case. It does seem odd though that the label assembled them, then put little promotion outside of the Warped Tour scene into them until they were just about broken up. I remember hearing about them being featured on Glee, then Cassadee's on the Voice.

Regardless, I'll revise and say it was partly the label's method of promotion and partly their staying power/group of fans.

I could only get thru 21 seconds. It's like she's trying to channel the spirit of the Britney Spears America first fell in love with...and just being awkward at it.

I dont think so. After Blake broke up her and Mike Gentile, who was also in Blake, formed Hey Monday after recruiting a few other members, THEN they signed to Decaydance and Columbia.

I dont get the hate though. Because she was in a couple different bands when she was in high school? Who cares. A lot of people are in shitty local bands before they make it big. Hey Monday was going nowhere so she made a career decision that's probably going to pay off big for her.

Is she from a rich family or something? She seems like she gets a lot of opportunities that would require her to know someone in the industry.

For what it's worth, the production on this isn't bad.

If you watched the Voice when they went home to Florida and over to her Moms "House" you would not think so at all. Looked like a small Apartment style condo with really dated decor. I pretty much own the same thing and I sure as hell aren't anywhere close to rich.

there was a contest to rename blake because the label wanted them to change their name presigning. basically same band
