i might be wrong, but i dont really think that when he said those things that he was coming from a "hateful" place as much as he was simply stating his beliefs ( whether they be right or wrong), the same way the majority of posters are expressing their beliefs in this thread. Also didnt really see him condemning anyone, as much as stating what his religion says about homosexuality ( again regardless of whether it is wrong or right)

This. I'm a Christian and a fan of the band but this is ludicrous. It's time to change a few of the old teachings to adapt for today's more diverse public. The bigger problem is how much a joke American religion is becoming. If there isn't some tupe of contreversy then there's the legions of these new age churches popping up that are more a spectacle and business than a real, tradiational, European rooted place of worship.

I think people throw around the word "homophobe" too easily. I know some people who are, indeed, homophones, but I think someone who expresses their opinion (I'm not saying I agree or disagree with this guy, that's not the point) about a subject doesn't make that person an extremist as the the word "homophobe" implies.
