After listening to the full album from start to finish about 10 or so times now I can safely say that for me it's the best FFAF album since Casually Dressed. I'm definitely a fan of the heavier side of post-hardcore and Conduit is easily the heaviest the band have ever sounded. I was never fan of their more alternative rock influenced material and I honestly believe Funeral are at their strongest when the riffs are loud and Matthew Davies is angry. Their new drummer from Rise To Remain clearly gives their sound a crunchy metallic edge, and at times it's absolutely punishing. I do wish the album was longer, but that's only because it leaves me craving more and more. I'm personally really glad the band had the balls to make this album because in such a concentrated form there is no room for error, and I think they've nailed it. | | |
