I doubt it's permanent. He did say it would sound different due to the chemical and that it would take a while to get rid of.

its not permanent. if his been out for 10 months then his chest voice hasn't been in that place for awhile so the musculature is not stretched out as its used too but that part in his voice will be back. just takes a little time.
