I think several times a week I look up a song that I've heard while watching something on tv. So what are some songs you've had to look up after you've heard it on a show? Standouts or something recent? Actually, maybe you already knew the song or artist but just really liked how they used it on the show. A few off the top of my head:

Veronica Mars - "I Hear The Bells" by Mike Doughty
Breaking Bad - "Goodbye" by Apparat
The Carrie Diaries - "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" cover by Greg Laswell
The Vampire Diaries - "Dauðalogn" by Sigur Ros

The show may have been absolutely ridiculous but damn they knew how to choose music.

I'll never forget Finch's What it is to Burn in the pilot, during Nathan and Lucas's basketball game at the end. That was the first time I heard Finch then went to listen to that album.



Since The National has been brought up several times, Friday Night Lights has several scenes where they used The National and it was so good, one of which was changed on the dvd and it upsets me. And Game of Thrones had a great ending with The National doing the Lannister song.
