I'm there this week. Any good shows? Anything worth doing?

I got Kai Sushi last night.. this town's female to male ratio is like 15:1 from what I've seen, you lucky bastards. Fashion seems to be about a year behind, too, so your womens aren't wearing those ugly-as-hell stomach high shorts that everyone is wearing here in NYC/NJ. Bless you.

Interestingly, there is only about 3% more females than males. Still a noticeable difference in certain places (like downtown).

The Aviary - French cuisine (not expensive). Savory and sweet crepes. Ratatouille. Pommes Frites (basically french fries but better).
The Cup - Cupcakes. Big, delicious cupcakes.
1984 - Arcade. You only have to pay for entry.
Andy's Frozen Custard
Bambinos - Italian cafe
Flame Steakhouse
Battlefield Mall
Vintage Vinyl (record store)
Bass Pro
Wilson's Creek National Battlefield
Askinosie Chocolate
Mother's Brewing Company
Springfield Brewing Company
Moxie (independent theater)
Discovery Center
Artwalk (first Friday of every month downtown. Many of the shops become art galleries, people juggle fire, busk, etc.)
Jordan Valley Ice Skating

Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts

Bass Pro is worth a visit since it's the main store out of the company, place is massive. That said, I haven't been there to Springfield in well over ten years. If you want to see what Las Vegas would look like if Ned Flanders ran it, go to Branson down the road.

I would so go just to see Yakov's Dinner Adventure and Barry Williams "Brady Brunch".

I feel Dixie Stampede is worth a visit, solely for the chance to see a Civil War version of Medieval Times.

I second the Andy's.

I have grand parents who live there so I've been there quite a bit over the years. Wilson's Creek Battlefield is pretty cool too. I'm not really into the whole Bass Pro thing but my family always seems to go there just to have a look around.

The one thing I'm not too thrilled about is that Branson in a dry city. I mean I don't need alcohol to have a good time but I think I'd laugh harder if it was in my system. What are the prices like for a show and hotel?

Definitely go to Lambert's Cafe right down the highway. Place is highly famous state-wide. It's not a buffet, but all appetizers and whatever you order is "all-you-can-eat". Their main gimmick is that the waiters walk around the place and throw rolls across the store to you, as dumb as that sounds, but it's a pretty great place. haha.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I was out in Park Central Square last night, it was surprisingly empty.

Lambert's was a strange place, and the food was pretty awful, but definitely one of those "you have to try it" things.

Smith's was a solid place for lunch.

Rusty Moose Lodge Home Decor is just about the strangest store in the world, but I picked up a few things.

I'll have to try Andy's Frozen Custard tonight. Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming. Cab drivers around here love to tell their life story, which is both entertaining and interesting.

haha. Exactly how I would describe it. Food itself is very hit or miss. Their pulled pork sandwich is amazing, but the few other things I've had from there were pretty terrible.

Big Whiskey's is great.

Dublin's Pass (I think that's the name, it's near Big Whiskey and Harbells) isn't bad.

Branson really isn't the "dry" city everyone makes it out to be. It is a clean town with no gambling and a good majority of establishments dont serve drinks, but there are still a lot of liquor stores around, even on the strip.

I haven't heard about any gambling going down in Branson, unless they decided to build a casino boat and put it in a man made lake.
