the only problem i have with bands recording and then shopping their album is that it's a long process before it's finally released. have to figure at this point it would be at least the summer before it's released. same with motion city's last album. they finished recording summer 2011 (saw them in september 2011 and they said the record was done) and it wasn't released until june 2012.
Dang, I wouldn't have gotten so excited about hearing new music soon if I remembered they were off Interscope. Interested to see what their next move is (and hope it doesn't take too long).
Really not sure why a label would be completely necessary for them, I totally think they could release it independently and they've done that in the past right?

The only thing they've released independently was that Clarity Live album which was a digital only release.
