Get rid of the text and it's beautiful. Consistent with Loveless' art but still different.
I think the font of the text really contributes to the feel the artwork radiates, and I know that sounds weird. The feel of the whole album kind of reminds me of Radiohead's The Bends. It's just more spacey and dreamy. Great album.
Chill out, obviously I know mp3 encoding rapes the original frequency content but if you look at the chart, aside from the expected retention of original frequency content, there is also a large amount of frequencies well above the human hearing range. Curious to understand where you are coming from...
I don't even particularly like shogaze as a genre, but this was surprisingly pleasant. I suppose I'll check out "Loveless" next.

I like finding the best of genres i'm not a fan of, since most styles have solid artists I'd normally ignore because of expectations. :)

MBV set the bar for shoegaze with Loveless and nobody has ever topped it. I like to do similar to you, when I felt like delving into jazz I went straight for Kind of Blue. Start with the best and if you dig it you'll probably like the rest.
