The band's always been insanely poppy ... haha, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
True, but Forget and Not Slow Down featured such organic instrumentation that this comes off as a misstep. Fine by me if it's only a novelty track. Not so much if the album sounds like this.

They're known to change things up alllll the time. I would expect a poppy album based on what they've been playing live.

That's probably a reasonable expectation. Poppy or not, this is still Relient K, so I'm more than a little predisposed to like it, whenever it finally drops.
I guess it was okay. Not particularly digging the glossy pop, but at least it's not on the album. I have no idea how they'll top Forget and Not Slow Down, though.
Am I the only one reading "a new song called "That's My Jam" that they did while recording their new album." as "This is something they did on the side while in the studio recording their actual album"?
This is obviously just something they did for fun. And it's still catchy and enjoyable. Glad it's not on the album though. One of my top 5 most anticipated for the year. Can't wait to hear "Boomerang" properly recorded.
EDIT: If anyone had any serious doubts the description for the video even says "You may have heard this on a Pizza Hut commercial", so yeah they just borrowed the tune for fun.

Always been "poppy"? Yes. But this is like "Must of Done Something Right" sugar coated, run through the Top 40 simulator, and puked on by Max Martin. This goes from "being poppy" to just being pop.
