They progressed a lot with Listen & Forgive, imo. Better songwriting, more diversity and it helps that the production is so much better. I really really want them to continue that path... If they do, I bet this will end up in my top 10 of the year...

Oh, I totally agree...minus the forgettable part (the pop punk they were doing hadn't been heard since the late 90s with bands like Texas is the Reason and such), I just hope they include some of their older elements too...they did in a sense on L&F, but it was overshadowed. But I agree about continuing on this path as well as top 10.

back when they used distortion they were much better. maybe not better in the sense that they were better musicians back then, but better in that the feel was like you were seeing a band that would matter for years to come. new stuff is fine, but it'll be forgotten pretty easily

Listen and Forgive was AOTY for me in 2011. I hope this record exceeds it.
