Has anyone here joined or know anyone who's joined the Peace Corps? I'm in the process of filling out my application now and was curious if I could get some feedback (positive or negative) in here before I made my submission. Thanks. :)

So, before reading that reddit, I was having serious doubts. 2+ years away from home in a completely different environment is extremely scary; however, all the positives I imagined seem like they're possible if you take the right attitude into it.

I'm torn between whether or not I should spring for the PC or start off with something shorter term, like one of the 1-3 month overseas programs in different organizations.

It sucks cause I feel like I NEED to do this for myself (not PC, necessarily, but this tuype of work in general) and will regret it if I don't. Uggh.
