there's quite a few songs off Banner Pilot's Collapser that reference John Fante's novel Ask the Dust.

"Araby" by Sundowner is based on the James Joyce short story of the same name.

The Lawrence Arms' The Greatest Story Ever Told references The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov a couple times/is based on it.

The Menzingers' On The Impossible Past alludes to some of the work by Vladimir Nabokov (the title comes from Lolita, and "Obituaries" quotes Pale Fire)
