I can't wait until shitty old customs and traditions like this die out. My family is the traditional asian family; man leads the family, women follow. My mom is super proud of me, and my dad looks down on me because I'm making more money than him, because it isn't custom for a girl to make more money than the head of the household. It's disgusting, and it makes growing up shitty. So this article definitely hits home. Not quite as harsh, but somewhat similar. I hope the internet helps out these girls somehow.
