Amazed there isn't a thread for this show. Yeah, it's no Sherlock (what is?), but it's shot beautifully, both leads act their asses off (Miller especially; he mixes arrogant neuroticism and heartbreaking introspection so, so well), and it's just a hell of a lot of fun. No 'will they/won't they' from Miller and Liu, which is great as well. Man, this, Person of Interest, (some episodes of) Vegas, The Good Wife; seems like CBS is starting to realize they can make huge hits that are actually good shows. The procedural/serialized blend is starting to work in their favor.

Any other fans out there? Gotta be.

I mean, while there's a lot of source material to work through, they're doing 22-24 episode seasons, and are a lock to be renewed; I'm not surprised they're taking their time to work through it. Sherlock had 3 episode series so they didn't really falter from burning through all the Irene/Moriarty stuff. If the CBS version were to do that, they'd quickly have to start making up more backstory, and I think the story would suffer much more if that was the way things were handled.

Last night's episode was fucking incredible. Jonny Lee Miller's lower jaw deserves an Emmy. A legitimately great episode of television. I hope this slowly starts phasing out the more procedural aspects and finds a heavier dependence on serialization a la The Good Wife. This could easily become one of the best dramas on television if it worked at it.

Also, the season 2 premiere is filming in London, which is cool, and maybe also a sign about what's going to happen next week.

I never thought I'd say this, but CBS seems to be getting their shit together. It's nice seeing this and Good Wife get the respect they deserve. And POI, I suppose, but I still haven't watched that.
