Another staffer can correct me if I'm wrong on this, but there's a general trend on the site to move away from that in reviews as part of the new system (i.e. consistent /10 scoring system). Is a RIYL really necessary when you can easily go listen to something on spotify or youtube and see for yourself in a matter of seconds what the album sounds like? |
I don't understand why an RIYL is necessary. If the review really makes you interested, seek out a track instead of needing to be force fed everything. |
That's fair. I just like having a RIYL in them to see what the author likes to compare them too, and to see if I agree with them on their comparisons. Also, I feel like a lot of reviews on Absolute Punk already have RIYL's in them, so I like the consistency in having them.
