Why don't more bands do this? Sounds like a great idea.
Agreed, it's actually kind of baffled me that this hasn't been done more regularly. I mean they do have the fact that they are recording and producing the album themselves in their own studio, so can take an hour to sit down and do this or something, which others may not, but still, I'm sure something could be figured out.
