No I know where the term comes from. I'm just pointing out that over time, "record" has come to mean the same thing as "album" in every day speech.

yeah, and people still type 'it's there hat' and 'Steve is over their' but that doesn't make it any less incorrect.

I always forget about "LP". Definitely the best term.

I always thought of the term "vinyl" as short for "vinyl record." We could call them VRs like we call Compact Discs CDs lol
