I mean, I would hardly call Jacks Mannequin a side project, but I guess at one point in time it was. That being said though, Dashboard was just a side project for Chris in the beginning of Further Seems Forever, so if that is defined as a "side-project" in this discussion, then DC definitely deserves to be mentioned. That being said, I personally dont think either should be referred to as side projects, even though at one point they may have been.

I am surprised there was no mention of: The Postal Service, The Horrible Crowes (I mention them because wasnt it just last week POZ did an "albums that deserve to be classics in 2020", and they said thay though Elsie deserved it?), Dustin Kensrue's solo album.

Past Lives, fronted by Jordan from The Blood Brothers is one of my favorite side projects.

I'd argue that +44 and AVA are not really side projects. AVA recently maybe, but definitely not in the beginning

I'd say anything counts as a side project that comes after the previous band/singer had fame with that particular band/project. Even if the side ends up being bigger or being the main focus.


That Box Car album was so good. I would say too bad there wasn't more but maybe it just deserved to be an awesome one time thing.

Dashboard, postal service are the ones I can think of that are missing for sure.

Box car is great, but this article was basically just sucking blink 182's dick. Much much better side projects out there to not include three blink off shoots.

Not enough time to delve into making a list but PUNCH (side project of Loma Prieta) has always been solid.
