Authors are known as writers, storytellers, directors, musicians etc. The people who have a story and are willing to tell it. That’s what authors are, We all have our favorites on this site. Brand New, Copeland, Thrice, Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Devine, Andy Hull; These could all be considered authors of their own stories. Whether it be a sad story about a lost loved one, Anxiety about letting life pass by or getting over a hump in life that has drug you down into depression. These authors use instruments as their pen and their records are their published work. Author have set out to not only tell a beautiful story but paint a dynamic, colorful picture akin to some of the finest indie rock you've ever heard.

Folky, indie rock is a beautiful thing in the hands of Author, not only do they manage to capture you in just 4 short songs but they also manage to create a perfect first impression. You’ll be scouring the net for more on these guys on your first listen of Rest. A slow indie rock tune with Brennan Taulbee’s beautiful crooning laid down over some of the simplest combination of keys and drums. You’ll have your socks charmed right off of your feet.

Other words I can use to describe PAAAO? Warm, inviting, riveting, awesome. This should come to no surprise but former Copeland front man Aaron Marsh produced this record. This is a love letter to everyone that enjoys his work, The influence on PAAAO is undeniable. Tracks like Separation come on a bit more aggressive but still manage to capture the mellow vibe with it’s dreamy Dan Nigro vibe. Salt is another slow churning track that brings the ambient heavy chords and fizzles away beautifully.

People Are Alike All Over is a small collection of songs that would capture a moment in someone’s life and would stick for years to come. Those songs that you go back to and the impact is still there years later. All things considered, I can’t wait to listen to more of Author’s stories.
