If The Get Up Kids impregnated Saves The Day in the early 2000s, Thousand Oaks, CA, pop-punk band The Braces would be their illegitimate lovechild. They recently signed with Paper + Plastick Records, and they are one of my favorite new young bands of 2013. The band will be releasing its P+P debut, Two Years, digitally on April 9th (with vinyl coming later in the year), but we're giving you an early taste with an exclusive stream of a new song, titled "Scratches." Check it out in the replies or at the band's AP.net profile. If you dig it, you can digitally pre-order it for $7 here.
This is my cup of tea. It's also my band. Thanks for hosting the stream and the kind words Drew. Pre-Order the record if you like it, I promise that you will enjoy it.
if anyone ever wrote something like this about my band, i would be annoyed. quit dragging legendary bands into a way to describe your music.
How about just listening to those legendary bands and not worrying about it? I doubt the bands they cite in the RIYL could care at all about it, why should you?
