what do ya think? i really, don't have any friendships in my daily life. i don't talk to anyone. except my family, which doesn't really count. do ou think IRL can be as fulling as online? there's no physical hanging out, contact. i think there's a stigma with online communicate. but you can still talk. anytime you want. but for some reason, IRL is always put above online, even though online communication has advanced so much through the years. this really hurts close to home seeing as i I'm really anxious talking IRL and more comfortable online.

this means romantic or platonic.

Put simply, no. Face-to-face interaction is important.

I've had some pretty unfulfilling IRL relationships in my life. I guess it matters of it's romantic or platonic. Just friends-friends can be pretty good--I've learned this as I've grown up and my friends have moved away. However, it becomes really difficult to keep up with everyone when they're very far away. I barely talk to my two closest friends from high school anymore because they both moved half a country away. I'm still able to keep up friendships with my friends that live a state over though. I guess it's all relative. However, if it's a romantic relationship, an online only kind of thing becomes a way to fill a void in your life instead of something that makes it better. I've had/done it all at this point.

What's important though is if you're happy, if you are then don't worry about it. If you aren't, you should probably go do something.

Also, seeing that you're from Kenosha I can understand how real-life friends are hard to come by--I've been there a few times and I swear it's a ghost town. I'd still take it over Rockford any day of the week though.

You're not alone, lots of people are anxious in public and interacting with others. Hiding behind a computer screen isn't going to help that though, and over time your anxiety will get worse and potentially develop into depression because of the way you're isolating yourself. If your anxiety is really so crippling that you can't get out and meet people, then you should really consider going to a therapist. They will be able to help you through it.

nope. I mean, there's nothing wrong with them and you can have great relationships, but they're not the same.

Can a naked picture be more fulfilling than the actual person in front of you naked? I guess it's possible

Face to face interaction is what makes relationships (friendship or dating) worth it and beneficial. It's possible to meet incredible people online but without actually hanging out with them in person, it's simply not going to provide the same benefits and satisfaction. I understand where you are coming from because meeting people in social situations can be terrifying for me too if I am there alone. But all it takes is to meet one new friend and establish that relationship and it will do a lot for a person's confidence and self esteem.

A lot of people feel the exact same way and finding one or two people in the same boat and chatting with them will really pick you up. Even if you are meeting people on here or on Facebook or Xbox live, just say "Hey what's up" to somebody. You'll find that most people are really friendly and will respond and if they are not, just say "Fuck them" and move onto the next person!

No, nor can hate-filled violent rivalries. The truest way to express one's contempt for another is by inflicting physical harm onto them. Until I can shiv someone over the Internet, real life will forever reign supreme.

I don't think so. Physical contact is huge in a healthy relationship.

It depends solely on the level of relationship you are hoping to achieve honestly, if you don't plan on ever doing anything with the person outside of the interwebs you're pretty much screwed. If you're just starting out with one with the intention of actually making it more serious at some point than it's possible it could work but like I said if you're afraid to go further than talking on the phone I don't think it's realistic, at least long-term anyway.
