As you may know, Restorations is hitting the road this summer with The Menzingers. Since we love both bands, we wanted to give away tickets to select dates on the tour. Today we'll be giving some away for the May 26th show at Revolution in Amityville, NY. To win, just tell me what your favorite lyric (or lyrics) are on the band's new album, LP2, which is available now via Side One Dummy. Good luck!
My favorite lyric has to be,
"I don't mind a little repetition
I don't mind the settling in
The creaking clanging steel of my friends
Shouting on the inside "
from the second track 'Let's Blow Up the Sun.'
It's just a really meaningful line for me as a college student who is going through the motions of the old routine and friends who keep their feeling bottled inside. This is an excellent tour by the way, what a lineup.
Don't enter me. I live on the wrong side of the country. Considered flying to Philly because I adore all four of the bands playing so much but just couldn't justify it (will hopefully get to see them all at fest anyways)
But the best lyrics on that album has to be
"I'm ready for the water.
I'm ready for the sea.
I'm ready for the giant arms.
Coming to take me"
Months before this tour was announced, I bought tickets to a festival here in Boston that I'm now incredibly regretting. The Menzingers and Fake Problems are easily two of my favorite bands from the past couple of years, and both Restorations and Captain, We're Sinking have put out two phenomenal records.
