Apparently I'm the only person here that likes this album a lot. I don't really know what everyone's expecting from City & Colour given the sound that Dallas has always had with this project?

Lyrically it's great, musically it's great. It covers a few different sounds, and it's a solid record. This all being said after a few listens also. The first listen didn't suck me in much, but I've been playing it nonstop all weekend and it keeps becoming better and better. The songs start to stick

C&C is probably my favorite artist ever, but I can't get into this at all. Still excited to get my vinyl pre-order though.

This may be the first time that I actually delete one song from an album from my iTunes. I adore this entire album except "Commentators," and I think it's a hell of a lot better without it.

Other much smaller things that bother me:
1. His reuse of the "Heart will roam in search of warmth" lyric from "Born and Raised" (AOF)

2. The repetitiveness of "Golden State." I like how it starts with those lyrics, but I grow tired hearing it repeated as the chorus.

Still, this album really feels like a step up from Little Hell.
